Sam Concepcion to guest Teachers’ Congress

Multi-talented actor-singer Sam Concepcion and Keiko Necesario will be performing at the Provincial Gymnasium for the Province-wide Tri-Division Teachers’ Congress on Feb. 16, 2018.
Gov. Sol Matugas will unveil the Proposed Provincial Division Office, and the Teachers’ Training Center in Siargao. She will also launch the Provincial Online Education, as well as facilitate the ceremonial distribution of umbrellas, bags and laptops.
Over 6,000 teachers and school administrators are expected to join the exciting and spectacular event.
It should be recalled that DepEd appointed Concepcion as the 'Youth Role Model and Spokesperson' while the National Book Development Board’s (NBDB) named him as the 'Get Caught Reading campaign' Ambassador.
As the DepEd’s mouthpiece for the youth, Concepcion initiated drives and promoted meaningful co-curricular activities in line with the "SAMa SAMa sa Eskwela" project among other life-changing projects.
By personally touring the entire country, Concepcion visited 50 schools and immersed with 100,000 students on its first month and had been to various points all over the Philippines like Pampanga, Bohol, Laguna, Cebu City, Cagayan De Oro City, and Davao City.
In his talking engagements, he continually stressed the value of literacy, English proficiency, enriching one's capacity, and excelling in school.
To top it all, the young matinee icon was also given a representative role by the Department of Tourism to the Korea World Travel Fair. United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines also conferred upon him the prestigious UNAP 'Outstanding Youth Leader Award' at the Malacañang Palace.
Concepcion gained notoriety when he emerged as champion for the big division of the Little Big Star Season 1 and Grand Finalist of ABS-CBN’s Your Face Sounds Familiar.
As the first Filipino artist who collaborated with Dreamworks, Concepcion’s “Kung Fu Fighting” was included in the Asian soundtrack and became the official theme song of the epic animated movie, “Kung Fu Panda.”
His self-titled album under the Universal Records, “Forever Young” in 2011 hit the airwaves and dominated the chart as number one for seven weeks straight in a row.
He also played Blaine Anderson in the stage musical of Fox's Glee and another the film School of Rock and Pitch Perfect wherein Concepcion earned positive reviews from the critics.
Ceremony Proper
Surigao State College of Technology Chorale will led the National Anthem, Prayer and Martsa Surigao.
Acknowledgment of Participants will be given by Dr. Gilda Berte, Surigao City Schools Division Superintendent. Gov. Sol Matugas will also deliver her welcome address.
Introduction of the Guest Speaker will be made by DepEd Regional Dir. Beatriz Torno while the Awarding of Outstanding Educators will be made by Dr. Nelia Lomocso of the Surigao del Norte DepEd Division.
Among the prestigious accolades are the Schools Excellence Award and the Outstanding Parents-Teachers Association.
There will also be an intermission number of Fr. Jonas, the singing priest. Three hour concert by Sam Concepcion and Keiko Necesario will follow.
Next to that will be the Teacher’s Musicale Concert featuring Kundiman and Popular Music beside Philippine Folk Dances and Modern Bop. To cap the grand celebration and great rejoicing will be the fellowship.
