RD Cariño keynotes on LOVE as tool for development

(May 7, 2018)

‘In a world surrounded by mediocrity, love is the only way to achieve excellence in public service.’

Thus affirmed National Economic Development Authority Reg. Dir. Mylah Fae Cariño on May 3 during the Gov. Sol F. Matugas Inter-Agency Sports Fest in line with the 117thOne Surigao celebration held at the Provincial Gymn.

Saying that she felt uneasy, seeing herself dressed to the nines  while everyone wearing their sports attire. Working with Gov. Matugas for nine years, she said that she learned that ‘we must dress appropriately for the occasion.’

“Life can be understood backwards but it must move forward,” said Cariño.

Disclosing that another province is coming, the dynamic regional director said that ‘the common understanding that binds history and culture is the love for the people.’

“The theme Isa ka Probinsya para sa Kalamboan is very timely and apt. We have to maximize growth by coming together, complementing each other and reinforcing each other’s strength. We heed properly by pursuing development through public service. There are many paths toward development and one of which is excellent public service. Development must be pursued by excellence, where the race has no finish line,” maintained Cariño.

According to her, the acronym ‘LOVE’ stands for life of integrity, owning up mistakes to learn and move forward, vowing to be kind and helpful and equipping thyself with the knowledge of God to guide us in every thought, words and actions.

“Without integrity, we are nothing. We work our own growth that is why we should have the ascendancy. We need to say sorry and start anew. Humans make mistakes and learn. It is easy to be mean and selfish but hard to be kind and helpful. Our stakeholders deserve more so that our world won’t be clouded by so much misunderstanding, distrust and hostility toward each other,” explained Cariño.

Work, according to her, ‘is a form of prayer.’

“Endeavor to be the best in everything we do. Let us excel in every aspect of work.
