Province steps up fight against VAWC
(April 26, 2018)
It is said that ‘you should not resent the sky for its storms, but rejoice at the sky for its rainbows.’
Women were not created to play the role of slaves, but to complement and supplement the men as inseparable duos, as indestructible twosomes, as perfect couples, and as unbreakable partners in life.
Gov. Sol Matugas acknowledged all of her supporters for their unstinting, unwavering and unconditional support in the never-ending and never-failing Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, anchored on the theme, ‘VAW-free Community Starts With Me.’
Sincerest and earnest gratitude was given to all the GAD Focal Persons under the control and supervision of Ms. Florian Trinidad, together with the Municipal Social Welfare Officers led by Minerva Lumogdang, as well as fellow workers in government, with all the fondest greetings and warmest felicitations to all on the successful conduct of the purposeful and momentous event.
“I am deeply privileged to impart my message of honest and unconditional support in this very significant gathering which is geared towards gender-fair society in our struggle against all forms of social bias, discrimination, ruthlessness, bigotry, intolerance, harassment, maltreatment and neglect.
The purpose of this convergence is centered on the education of many about the imminent danger and looming risk that violence against women and children pose from the perspective of the marginalized, helpless and the vulnerable and the best way to address this prevailing issue is to replicate the best practices and introduce concrete reforms with the development officers and champions from the Surigao del Norte GWAPA which stands for Group of Women Advocating Protection and Hope.
We lobby for the protection and defense of constitutional liberties and civil rights of the weak, the ostracized and the desperate.
To those who are still going through the darkest storms in their lives, this is my unsolicited advice: “Ask God for His spiritual guidance, heavenly wisdom and Divine intervention,” she said in a message coursed through Ms. Trinidad.
By professionalizing the different women’s networks, added the workaholic and esteemed Governor, ‘ we are able to revolutionize society by our great sense of fidelity and adherence to the rule of law.’
“Our responsible, dependable and reliable partners, socialize and collaborate with us, by instilling into the social consciousness all the loving-kindness, fealty and courage that we can pass, as we move heaven and earth, to deal with multiple issues which range from aggression and hostility to sexism, injustice, inhumane treatment, vindictiveness and other excruciating experiences.
As we top up our mind, heart and soul with fervor, ardor, enthusiasm and commitment, we need to take ourselves back to where we came from, so we know where we are, when we should start and what plans we need to hatch, formulate and piece together.
Teamwork is very important in this breath-taking journey where we need to stand for what is appropriate, fitting and reasonable, to bloom where we are planted and to do what we feel best. Without a doubt, as we push the button of eagerness, zeal and alacrity, we perfectly understand that it is all systems go,” said Gov. Matugas.
According to the hands-on and multi-awarded Governor, ‘people must think out of the box so we know how to play our role in the family back to front, as a caring wife and as a thoughtful mother.’
“We dedicate our time, resources and energy for the benefit of our children; having in mind both our duties and obligations, to take care of the household.
With all modesty and gratefulness, thank you for the rare opportunity and great honor to serve you in my capacity as the visionary and award-winning mother of our beloved province, the land of our birth, the place we call home.
Let us all work in close partnership, cement our ties, strengthen our linkages and join forces for the progress of the Surigaonon community,” said the award-winning Governor.
