Placer marks 165th birthday
(June 4, 2018)
Being one of the oldest is an advantage. Just like the old song, “the longer I serve him, the sweeter he goes,” in reference to Christ.
Last May 30 was no different. It was a celebration of all sorts – taking place in one of the oldest towns of Surigao province, the municipality of Placer.
Since the Occupation of Spanish conquistadores, Placer has been a melting pot of rich cultural traditions and home-grown works of genius.
Last May 30, 2018, various sectors were ably represented at the municipal dome with Board Member Geed Gokiangkee as the distinguished guest speaker who gave life to the spectacle.
It was learned that the Bad-as Terminal will soon open.
In addition, the reclamation area at Brgy. Central has already been concreted, giving the beloved constituents of Mayor Jose Michael Patiño a clear glimpse of positive change.
In full compliance with the Seal of Good Local Governance, Mayor Pinggoy established the LDRRMO Building to facilitate first response during the onset of actual catastrophes.
Over-all beautification of the Municipal Plaza up to the Luneta Park also kicked in.
To top it all are the ambitious PRDP projects which consist of 4 km farm to market road concreting from Brgy. Amoslog going to Bad-as.
Construction of Panhutongan Bridge is still on-going.
Concreting of Sta. Cruz to Anislagan way is also on-going.
These priority projects are made possible in collaboration with Gov. Sol Matugas.
Onward Placernon! Bag-ong Placer, padajonon!
