Paul Soriano shows up in public showing

(January 16, 2018)

Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal Best Director Paul Soriano emerged during the free screening of the universally-acclaimed movie dubbed 'Siargao' on January 14, 2018.

General Luna Municipal Gymnasium became the perfect venue of the highly-anticipated film which harvested numerous awards and instantly turned as a blockbuster hit.

Soriano turned over the awards that the famous reel garnered to the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte ably headed by Governor Sol Matugas and Cong. Francisco Jose 'Bingo' Matugas, of the First Legislative District.

It must be stressed for the record that based on the initial itinerary, the much-loved film was first shown at the town of San Benito on January 8, this year; followed by Burgos on January 9; Del Carmen last Jan. 10; Sta. Monica on Jan. 11; Dapa on Jan. 12; San Isidro on Jan. 13; Gen. Luna on Jan. 14; Pilar on Jan. 15 and Socorro on Jan. 16.

It should be noted that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, actively presided by Vice Gov. Arturo Carlos Egay, Jr. recognized the stars that made Siargao a perfect sensation through a SP Resolution.

“Siargao” garnered the following awards:  Best Picture, Best Director,  Best Editor, Best in Cinematography, Best Original Theme Song - Alon by Hale, Best in Sound, Best Supporting Actress - Jasmine Curtis Smith, and Star of the Night (Female) - Erich Gonzales.

Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith were top-billed as the celebrities who starred in the movie. Beyond the electrifying satisfaction brought by what appears to be a very exciting twist in the love story among the three stars, the film also gives tribute to the majestic splendor and exceptional beauty of Siargao.

Then Gov. Francisco ‘Lalo’ Matugas also articulated his wholehearted gratitude to the famous director for  promoting Siargao to the rest of the world. Soriano co-owns a resort in Gen. Luna .

It should be recalled that Governor Sol and Cong. Bingo Matugas met Soriano early this year to talk about the great project. Soriano featured other tourist attractions and destinations in the island which fascinates the whole world.

The plot  revolved around the traditions and values which locals adopt.

In addition, the film was produced after a month-long shooting, carrying a genre which is classified as Romance/Drama.

Meanwhile, Gov. Matugas thanked Soriano for advertising Siargao Island among his friends in the business. It is expected that many will patronize the dreamland known as Island of Breath-taking Adventures.
