Governor convenes SDNPH personnel, staff
(February 2, 2018)
In order to improve Service Delivery Network in line with the Cuban Polyclinic System, Gov. Sol Matugas brilliantly presided a consultation meeting with the workaholic technical staff and rank-and-file personnel of the Surigao del Norte Provincial Hospital recently.
Gov. Matugas said that front-line nurses must possess not only good grooming but also pleasing personality which means nice attitude, absolute courtesy, unreserved politeness and good manners in dealing with patients and co-workers.
"That is why we conduct training workshops on client care and customer service satisfaction in order for our hospital employees to be very accommodating, friendly, approachable, kind and pleasant. We do not want to hear complaints that doctors, nurses and staff discriminate patients just because they are poor. We have to treat them with the highest form of consideration because they are our beloved constituents," declared the reform-oriented Governor.
In addition, Gov. Matugas also warned those who blatantly disregard the policies of the government through manifest, palpable, deliberate and purposeful display of lack of care and utter disrespect because such would mean insubordination, and must be dealt with accordingly.
"Working in government means you must not be self-centered but rather, you must be law-abiding. We must, at all cost, observe the barest essentials of faithfulness and collaboration in serving the people above self. The real barometer of people-oriented service is when you give yourself for the benefit, interest and well-being of the people you love the most with all your mind, your heart, and your strength," clarified the smart-thinking Governor.
Anyone who is found to be abusive, by name-dropping persons-in-authorities and by doing what is against the policies of the government, will be disciplined according to the rules promulgated by the provincial government.
Dr. Ramie Hipe, chief-of-hospital, revealed and itemized the pressing concerns of the Level One Medical Facility which showcases state-of-the-art facilities and modern amenities.
She said that there is a need to improve wireless connectivity in order to enhance the online database of the hospital so that all the relevant information and pertinent details respecting the hospital operations will be enhanced and synchronized.
To top it all, Dr. Hipe also voiced the other matters which were included in the agenda like Philhealth, workers' benefits, doctors' compensation, plantilla, hiring, and medical procedures which are crucial and essential for the licensing requirements.
It should be recalled that the Department of Health has just issued License to Operate No. 16-04-18-50-H1-1 to the 50-bed capacity Provincial Hospital located at Sta. Cruz in Placer.
This is pursuant to Republic Act (R.A.) No. 4226 and Department of Health (DOH) Administrative Order No. 0012, with the imprimatur of the DOH Secretary and Reg. Dir. Jose Llacuna, Jr.
Over-all hospital operations shall terminate on Dec. 31, 2018 unless the license is renewed a month prior to its expiry.
Services with the blessing and go-ahead of DOH consist of the clinical laboratory, diagnostic xray services, pharmacy, blood station and ambulatory service provider.
