Governor champions peace-building efforts

(February 12, 2018)

For her wholehearted support and unequivocal contribution in the continuance, perpetuation and maintenance of peace and order, security-building, and economic development in the entire Northern Mindanao, Gov. Sol Matugas championed one of the highest accolades conferred by the Armed Forces of the Republic of the Philippines.

The said prestigious award was a decoration of honor given to her last February 1, 2018 during the 48th  Founding Anniversary of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division of the Philippine Army.

Situated at Camp Evangelista, in Cagayan de Oro City, it was a hard-earned and well-deserved tribute to the priceless work and significant role that the hands-on and smart-thinking Governor brilliantly played in the sphere of action-oriented leadership.

As such, Gov. Matugas regularly convenes the Peace and Order Council (PPOC) to squarely address the prevalence of crime, counter insurgency, foil potential terror threat and put an end to illegal drugs.

Major Gen. Ronald Villanueva, praised the visionary Governor for her utmost dedication and sincere commitment in the pursuance of goodwill and harmony.

Atty. Premolito Plaza, Provincial Administrator ably represented Gov. Matugas during the awarding ceremony.

Gen. Villanueva expressed his immense gratitude to the idealistic Governor for aligning her priorities in line with the mantra of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte who placed the entire Mindanao under martial law.

Both the Senate and the House of Representatives, in joint session, extended its imposition until December 31, 2018.

Premised on the theme, "4ID@48: Matatag na Sandigan at Kaagapay ng Bayan para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran," the Gawad Kaunlaran and Kapayapaan was bestowed to inspire local government units to cooperate with authorities in ensuring that communities are generally secured, completely safe and perfectly sound.
